Job Description
Under direct supervision, responsible for providing casting and bracing support to orthopedic providers. Ensures best care and patient experience for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Applies and adjusts plaster casts and assembles/attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices.
- Inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment as needed.
- Aids in the reduction of fractures by preparing and assisting patients with the operation of appropriate equipment.
- Assists in the treatment of sterile and infected wounds by providing sterile cleansing, cleansing open and draining wounds, and applying wound dressing.
- Stocks supplies and maintains sterilization of medical instruments and equipment.
- Stocks/restocks examination rooms on a daily basis.
- Triage's and inputs patient medical documentation and/or application/supply charges into appropriate systems.
- Assists with all patients encounters and follows up as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess knowledge and skills in casting/splinting and providing care for fractures, sprains, congenital anomalies and surgical treatments.
- Possess skills and abilities in assisting with procedures such as injections, wound care, nail care and dressing changes.
- Excellent patient care service skills.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous, pleasant and professional manner.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
- None.
Required Skills One (1) year of related experience is required.

Time Off - A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:
- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
- Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
- Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
- Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.
