Job Summary:
As a GI Nurse Practitioner at the Danny Jackson Health Center, you will provide advanced nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician, utilizing your expertise to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations
- Cordinate, direct, and implement patient care plans
- Order, conduct, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Makes medical recommendations and referrals
- Develops and evaluates treatment plans
- Maintains accurate patient records
- Provides patient education on medical procedures, medication, nutrition, and health promotion
- Collaborates with patients, families, clinicians, and referral services to ensure patient recovery
Requirements:
- Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP, and specialty certification as required by department
- BLS Certification
- Masters in Nursing as NP or completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program
Physical Demands:
This role requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds, and constant lifting of up to 10 pounds.
Security Clearance:
This position may require security clearance and is subject to provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215.
