Job Title: Rotating Shift PRN ECMO Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Specialist to join our newly developing ECMO program in Tyler, TX.
About Us
UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, with 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians, and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert care to critically ill patients
- Evaluate and manage veno-venous (V-V), venoarterial (V-A) ECMO, Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR), and ECMO transport
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit
- Participate in research, education, and precepting as part of the program's development
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ECMO specialist in a critical care setting
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Succesful completion of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and have sucessfully completed the registry exammination for advanced level practitioners and be recognized as a Registered Respiratiry Therapist(RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care(NRBC)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC)
- Certified ECMO Specialist - Adult (CES-A) certification
