- UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
- Schedules personnel (both volunteer and employee) to maintain adequate staffing.
- Make recommendations for employee hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, disciplinary
- actions and terminations; and, evaluates employees performance.
- Prepares and verifies employee’s records for payroll purposes, with approval provided by
- Manager-Volunteer Services.
- Sets strategic goals and budget for Gift Shop.
- Prepares daily reports of sales and purchase.
- Balance cash register tape and prepares daily cash report and deposits.
- Orders merchandise from suppliers though standard procedures.
- Verify and submits monthly bills for payment.
- Receives and prices merchandise.
- Maintains state sales tax records.
- Oversees and relieves personnel in Gift Shop as needed.
- Travels to Dallas Market Center Twice yearly to purchase merchandise.
- Interviews potential volunteers and applicants for employment in Gift Shop in coordination with Managers-Volunteer Services.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Two years of college in a business or marketing field or equivalent experience in a related area
- Must have basic computer skills and math/accounting abilities
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in retail setting
- Experience using Excel, Outlook, and Word
