Get to Know Your Team:
- UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
- Report to the Hospital/Market Laboratory Director, or hospital administrator overseeing the Manager of Laboratory Services.
- Accountable for overseeing the management of the laboratory, assuring accurate and timely test analysis, maintaining and properly utilizing all resources, establishing and implementing sectional goals and policies, promoting competency of staff and students through education, and ensuring appropriate and timely orientation for new employees.
- Apply knowledge and skills, professional in daily performance of management activities.
- Assist in the design, measurement, monitoring and implementation of programs to improve patient care within the medical center as measured by improved clinical outcome, improved efficiency of resource use and improved patient and physician satisfaction.
- Responsible for working directly with the supervisor in planning, directing, and managing aspects of laboratory services and laboratory outreach departments in accordance with the hospital, Ardent Health Services, regulatory agencies.
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; business development of the outreach laboratory function including product definition, product development, pricing, profitability, revenue growth, client and employee satisfaction.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician
- Five (5) years of experience in the clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician
- One (1) year in a management or supervisory role

Laboratory certification from an accredited laboratory certification program:
- CLS, MLS, MT, MLT or equivalent
Preferred Job Requirements:
- One (1) year progressive leadership experience in the laboratory setting
