Academic Hospitalists (Day) – Frisco, TX
Seeking day physicians to join an Academic Hospital Medicine program at UT Southwestern Medical Center with primary responsibilities at THR Frisco and occasional teaching responsibilities at UTSW. The primary focus will be clinical care of a diverse group of patients at a growing community hospital.
Texas Health Frisco is a dynamic outpatient/inpatient campus jointly operated by UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources in the thriving suburb of Frisco, TX. This state of the art 110 bed hospital opened in December 2019 and is a major focus of clinical growth at UT Southwestern going forward. Faculty are members of the UT Southwestern Hospital Medicine group and rotate to the main UT Southwestern teaching hospital, Clements University Hospital in Dallas, TX as a part of their clinical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide exceptional clinical care to a high-complexity patient population on med-surg level units
· Day shifts: rounding on general ward patients or admitting new patients
· Collaborate with advanced practice providers in a shared visit model during some weeks
· No procedures and closed ICU’s
Scheduling:
· 7 days on/7 days off, with 12-hour shifts
· 175 shifts per year
· Day shifts: Mostly 12-hour shifts (no overnight pager call)
· Night shifts: Staggered shifts, Guarantee of either Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day off every year (usually alternating years)
Qualifications:
· MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent, from an accredited institution
· Board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine
· Unrestricted Texas medical licensure
· Commitment to participation in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and other scholarly activities
