What are the responsibilities and job description for the CARDIOLOGY - RESEARCH ASSISTANT PROFESSOR position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology, seeks a Research Assistant Professor with demonstrated potential to perform independent statistical analyses focusing on bioinformatic analyses, machine learning approaches, and/or geographic information systems in epidemiologic cohort studies. Develop new and implement existing statistical code for research projects that align with the research themes of our group. This includes assisting doctoral and post-doctoral research fellows with data analyses. Develop and implement a curriculum for on-boarding research assistants/new data analysts and new research fellows vis-a-vis statistical software and analysis coding. Candidates should hold an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree. Successful candidates will demonstrate objective evidence of productivity in terms of first-author publications. Excellent leadership and communication skills are required to function as part of a collaborative research team as well as the candidate’s independent research program. The position will also have medical student, graduate student, and/or fellow teaching responsibilities.
