What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Medical Physicist position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
The Department of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a medical physicist to fill an academic faculty position within the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in physics, engineering or related field, with ABR certification. The emphasis of the position is on clinical software development and management, a track record of research and development in the field of radiotherapy, medical imaging, artificial intelligence, database and web design would be preferred. The ideal candidates should have strong communication skills along with a commitment to clinical innovation. The individuals sought will participate in the teaching of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, as well as residents in medical physics and radiation oncology. Personal attributes such as motivation, initiative, problem-solving, and teamwork are highly desired for this position.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a related field, with ABR certification. Successful applicants will participate in teaching graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and residents. Our physics team operates as a cohesive unit, where faculty physicists engage in both routine clinical duties and various research activities, with the allocation of efforts tailored to their research funding levels.
