What are the responsibilities and job description for the Department of Surgery Oral Surgeon position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Surgery, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial is seeking candidates for a faculty position.
Responsibilities will include supervision and teaching of graduate level residents, providing emergency coverage and active involvement in the faculty practice in both clinic and hospital settings. A heavy emphasis will be placed on anesthesia/sedation, dental implantology, maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial head and neck pathology and faculty practice. Research is optional but encouraged. Appointment rank will be commensurate with education, academic accomplishments, training and experience.
Successful candidates will have a dental degree from an ADA-accredited program and must have completed an advanced training program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at an accredited institution. A license to practice dentistry or be eligible for licensure in Texas and board certification or an active candidate for board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons is required. Medical degree is optional but highly recommended.
