JOB SUMMARY
The Health System Physician Relations Liaison position directly reports to the Director, Physician Outreach Program. The position is located in the Department of Physician Outreach. Physician Relations Liaisons are responsible for all aspects of physician outreach for both inpatient and outpatient clinical activities. They serve to effectively facilitate communication among specialists and primary care physicians resulting in a strong chain of referral relationships and growing patient volumes for the Health System. Specifically, the Physician Relations Liaison identifies, proposes, and executes physician outreach projects for assigned ambulatory practice and hospital programs. They must have the ability to establish strong partnerships with internal clients to assist in reaching the service line project goals and objectives. Additionally, they must have the ability to develop strong relationships with referring physicians in the community and educate on services offered at UT Southwestern.

5 years experience in a health care sales, hospital outreach, or similar role.
JOB DUTIES
- Acts as key UTSW representative available to answer service line questions and relay information to appropriate departments if necessary.
- Build and sustain relationships with key physician referral sources by making regular and consistent office visits.
- Educate referring physicians on new programs and services offered at UTSW.
- Identify referring physician access and service issues with UTSW. Help resolve issues by working with the appropriate UTSW department heads and hospital staff.
- Conduct ongoing referral analysis to identify loyal and splitter physicians.
- Promote continuing medical education (CME) programs to increase attendance and attend events.
- Submit updates to UTSW leadership on number of visits made, key issues, concerns and opportunities.
- Update physician tracking database to reflect physician outreach activities and CME attendance.
- Increases awareness of UT Southwestern clinical programs among targeted external physician offices throughout assigned geography and specialties, through consistent engagement at a cadence meaningful to the community partner.
- Conducts ongoing analysis to identify opportunities for new patient volume growth or service recovery.
- Works collaboratively with service line leaders, managers, and others to gather and share feedback and market intelligence from the field
- Identifies, monitors and documents relationship histories, including details of contacts and meetings with providers and staff, by maintaining a relationship and contact management database.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
