What are the responsibilities and job description for the PHHS Palliative Care Medical Director position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
The position requires an M.D./D.O. degree from an LCME-approved medical school or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME-accredited program is preferred; however, primary training in other specialties may be considered. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Candidate must also be eligible for Texas medical licensure. The responsibilities of the position include attending the palliative care admitting service, inpatient consultation service and the ambulatory care practice. Responsibilities also include supervising and instructing palliative care fellows and other trainees, supervising APP’s, and participating in the clinical, educational, and research activities of the Service.
