JOB SUMMARY

• Serve as the English as a Second Language (ESL) classroom Instructor and Conversation Partners program coordinator for UTSW international employees to include postdoctoral and faculty. 
• Communicates regularly with students and college officials, including responding to e-mails, calls, and requests seminars and additional ESL classes.
• Teach ESL classes and host cultural events and graduating ceremonies. 
• Develop ESL syllabi.
• Teach Communications and Writing/Grammar.
• Prepares assignments and assessments to assure achievement of learning outcomes.
• Maintains student attendance records weekly and certifies student enrollments.
• Recruit English-speaking conversations partners and match them with ESL students to provide opportunities for international students to practice their spoken English with an American student outside the classroom.

• Education

JOB DUTIES

• Plans, organizes, administers, conducts, and coordinates in-service training and educational programs.
• Confers with management and line supervision to determine need and scope of training programs.
• Develops curriculum and lesson plans or other appropriate methods of presentation.
• Conducts training sessions, organizes lectures, and prepares training manuals and materials, visual aides such as slides and films, and other training implements.
• Maintains records of training activities and evaluates applicability and effectiveness of programs.
• Recommends policies and procedures relating to training activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
