Works under moderate supervision to provide communications technical support and troubleshooting assistance for the university, hospitals and clinical personnel and staff including support for enterprise wide area network for voice and data with resolution of problems to assure service levels are achieved; maintain a customer-centric focus to ensure that quality customer service and support is the top priority goal.

Associate's Degree in a Telecommunication, Computer Science or
High School Diploma Or GED equivalent
Experience
2 years Work experience in support of unified communications in an IT environment with Associate's Degree and
4 years Work experience in support of unified communications in an IT environment. and
Licenses and Certifications
Technical/vocational certification Upon Hire

Experience
System administration experience in a large digital voice communications environment and
Some working experience with data and wireless communications are preferred and
Working experience with Siemens PBX HiPath switch, OSV, servers and voice messaging systems are preferred
JOB DUTIES
Confer with telephone users and vendors to determine the most efficient software design for call handling and call processing. Compile user requirements into telecommunications proposals and service orders for implementation.
Configure telephone system software using various applications on multiple platforms. Configure necessary translations for integration and uninterrupted service when moving users between telephony platforms.
Develop and write procedures for configuration, testing, use and troubleshooting of communications hardware and software.
Diagnose and troubleshoot basic telephone and data failures; dispatch unresolved issues to the appropriate personnel for resolution; process electronic orders for entry level moves, adds and changes.
Plan and coordinate small departmental moves and small construction projects; update analysts and databases as needed; maintain information database and documentation.
Coordinate with project teams for medium to large telecommunication system installations. Meet with customers to compile user requirements and communicate them to the project implementation team.
Provide project budget allocations for phone activations, cable pulls, access points, etc. Communicate potential budgetary issues with primary project coordinator/manager.
Provide timely updates to project team and/or database regarding status of assigned project tasks.
Provide end user training to customers on software features and functionality. Provide onsite end user support for medium to large project implementations. Conduct final walkthroughs with customers upon project completion.
Generate and process service tickets in accordance to departmental service levels; clearly document all customer issues and their resolution; follow all infrastructure process and procedures and escalate all customer issues as quickly as possible.
Perform weekly uploads of phone configuration database into phoneguide live program.
Complete all documentation associated with assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
