Behavior Technician

Utah Behavior Services, Inc
Brigham, UT Full Time
POSTED ON 1/17/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 3/17/2025

Utah Behavior Services is Utah’s premier behavioral healthcare provider, dedicated to creating successful children and developing strong families through high-quality, evidence-based behavioral healthcare. We serve Utah families from Brigham City to St. George. We are serious about our work of providing hope and evidence-based solutions for those in crisis. Our Vision Statement is “To empower all families to build their joy as a family.”

This position is NOT for someone who is simply looking for a paycheck or a babysitting job. This is a challenging job, but it has tremendous opportunities to truly help our clients and their families. We’re looking for a role model who thrives on connection with others and is passionate about inspiring hope and resiliency in the therapeutic environment and workplace. This is a place for someone with high levels of patience, empathy, and compassion. We need an ambitious, optimistic team member who is eager to learn and can problem-solve anything.

What Winning Looks Like:

  • Our families are here for our help, and you are a huge part of that. Take the responsibility seriously and provide services to them like you would want someone to provide them to you if you needed them. (Don’t worry we will train you, and you’ll have a team to support you).
  • Do your job with integrity and honesty, while ensuring that documentation is kept accurate and done with quality in mind. (Yes, that means being on time, showing up when you’re supposed to, following the dress code, and providing quality services to meet the clients’ needs).
  • Use your Influence for good - be positive, be supportive, and pull your weight. Be OK with asking for help when you need It. (No Drama! Nobody’s got time for that).

Essential Functions:

  • Independently conducts 1:1 Behavior Therapy shifts (at least 2.5 hours in length per shift) using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (“ABA”).
  • Address Behavior Service Plan (BSP) objectives by providing services using the procedures approved by the Supervising Clinician.
  • Attend and participate in supervision sessions to review child progress and Behavior Technician work performance with the Program Supervisor.
  • Collect and record data accurately and efficiently in accordance with policies established by UTBS and the standards of the field.
  • Demonstrate creativity and flexibility with program delivery and engagement with the child.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, time management skills, and above all, an ability to support teammates and the company as a united team for each client and family.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English to parents/caregivers.
  • Complete all required documentation in a thorough, professional, and timely manner, according to UTBS policies and procedures.
  • Display honesty and integrity in all elements of job performance and interactions with teammates due to the independent, field-based nature of home and community-based ABA.
  • Abide by all Utah and federal rules and regulations guiding ABA and Mental Health services, including, but not limited to:

❖ Behavior Technician and RBT standards and ethical guidelines of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

❖ HIPAA (Health Information Privacy and Accountability Act)
