What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisory Psychologist position at Utah Center for Psychological Services?
About Us
The Utah Center for Psychological Services is a private practice located in the greater Salt Lake City area. Our vision and mission is to be Salt Lake City's premier center for high-quality psychological evaluations. We are both an insurance-based and self-pay clinic, as it is important to us to increase accessibility to valuable mental health services.
We serve diverse clients for a variety of concerns. As a result, we conduct a broad spectrum of psychological assessments to address referrals for autism, ADHD, trauma, dissociative, personality, dementia, and learning disorders across the lifespan. We value and respect others' autonomy (both employees and clients alike). We implement a strengths-based approach with our clients, focusing on the individual strengths to guide recommendations for accommodations, treatment, and/or support. We also are committed to ongoing learning, and we implement a developmental model for training our staff members. Our goal is to find a balance between supporting our team members while also respecting their autonomy and expertise.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated clinical supervisory psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will supervise one to two postdoctoral fellows on an ongoing basis. We currently have two postdoctoral fellows, and we plan to have a new cohort start in September 2025. We may add a part-time practicum student in the fall of 2025 or 2026.
Supervision responsibilities include provision of weekly supervision, provision of formal trainings or didactics, development of a formal training program, syllabus, and curriculum, and oversight of psychological evaluations (i.e., extensively reviewing reports and providing detailed feedback). The ideal candidate would also be interested in/able to provide supervision of a small therapy caseload for postdoctoral fellows who choose to provide therapy services.
In addition to providing supervision, the supervisor will also maintain a small evaluation caseload of approximately four evaluations per month. There are opportunities to take on a few therapy cases each week, if desired, but this is not a requirement.
This is a full time position (i.e., 40 hours per week), but the schedule is flexible. This leaves room to work a four-day week, work evenings and weekends, or a standard 9-5 M-F schedule. This is a hybrid position, wherein most of the work will be done remotely (i.e., intake, collateral interviews, report writing, and feedback), but some work (i.e., testing) must be done in person at our office. As such, this position is ideal for highly independent individuals.
The pay is a blend of hourly and salary, amounting to $115,000 per year. In addition to a flexible schedule, we offer other benefits, including two weeks of paid time off (accumulated each pay period), six paid holidays, health insurance, 401k with employer match, and worker's compensation. We also provide coverage for malpractice insurance. See the full list of benefits below.
Start date for this position is flexible, as it is important to us to find the right fit. However, the latest start date would be mid August in order to prepare for the incoming group of postdoctoral fellows. This position requires a doctorate in clinical psychology (or related field) and licensure through DOPL, with at least 4,000 hours of work as a licensed psychologist.
