Utah Community Action of Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking to hire a full time Eligibility Worker for our HEAT (Home Energy Assistance Target) Program.

The Eligibility Worker position earns $18.80/hour based on experience and credentials. Position located at the Northwest Community Center.
The Eligibility Worker is responsible for determining client eligibility for HEAT utility and water assistance in accordance with Federal, State, and Utah Community Action policies and procedures. This position provides quality services to customers, referring to outside agencies as needed and offering education in budgeting and energy-saving measures. Must monitor caseload regularly to ensure services are provided promptly. HEAT staff may be assigned to assist in other program areas, such as editing and mentoring. As agency representatives, they are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and advocating for clients using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- MS Office experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree
- Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job requires mobility and physical dexterity, as well as the ability to read, focus, organize, recall, and retain information. Physical demands include sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting approximately 40 pounds, and regular use of the telephone, copier, fax, and computer.
WORK SCHEDULE
The typical work schedule is 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and the work site is located in Salt Lake City.
