JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Tobacco Underage Buyer - Tobacco Program - Part Time - No Benefits
Individuals must be between 17 and 20 years old and commit to at least 6 months of work as an Underage Buyer

Hours: Flexible and Variable
Salary: $13.00-15.00 per hour (depending on age)
Under close supervision, conducts underage tobacco buys (compliance checks) with health promotion staff, community members, and law enforcement. This is a geat opportunity to gain valuable work experience and help prevent underage tobacco access in our community.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Attempts to purchase tobacco in grocery stores, convenience stores, gas stations, and tobacco specialty businesses.
Completes brief reports following attempted tobacco purchases.
Coordinates work schedule with health promotion staff.
Transports self to Health and Justice Building in Provo or other locations across Utah County as needed.
REQUIRES:
- Must be at least 17 years old and not older than 20 and a half
- Cannot work in this position after age 20 and a half
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to buy tobacco products without lying about your age
- Must be available at least 2 days a week throughout the day, in the late afternoon, or evening
- Must be able to commit to 6 months of work
- Must have reliable transportation to meet at the Health & Justice Building in Provo or other locations across Utah County as needed
- This position should not be relied on as a part-time job as the hours are variable from month to month
- Must have reliable and prompt communication skills
