Job Description
The Food Service Worker III works closely with both the department manager and kitchen staff to oversee quality meal preparation while having an active role in sanitation and safety in the food service department. This position will lead, coach and direct Food Service Workers to ensure that assigned area's responsibilities are accomplished.
Principal Duties :
- Supervises subordinate personnel including : hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
- Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures. Covers and stores leftover food, records serving temperatures and leftover quantities.
- Inspects and maintains food quality, handling, and safety standards.
- Destroys or disposed of outdated, sensitive documents, blank warrants, expired food stamps, etc., in a manner appropriate for the sensitivity.
- Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and / or special meals to clients and / or staff.
- Coordinates an inventory management system to effectively control and distribute supplies and equipment.
- Verifies that cash intake matches sales and inventory activity.
- Cleans, sterilizes and or disinfects areas and / or equipment.
