Utah Housing Corporation is seeking a full-time, experienced, and self-motivated individual to join our Multifamily Finance and Development Department as a Compliance Auditor . In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring compliance with housing regulations, conducting audits and inspections, and supporting property owners and managers in meeting program requirements. Your work will directly contribute to the development of affordable housing in Utah.
Our Compliance Auditor position offers a hybrid work schedule and annual pay ranging from $46,000 to $59,000 , based on education and experience. UHC provides a comprehensive benefits package, including contributions to Utah Retirement Systems (URS) and PEHP, with additional monthly HSA contributions. As a Compliance Auditor , you will coordinate inspections, review tenant files, audit financial and rent records, conduct property inspections, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. You'll also assist with compliance training, respond to inquiries from property managers and owners, and stay up to date with evolving housing compliance standards. Occasional overnight travel is required, and you'll have access to a Utah Housing Corporation vehicle for work-related travel, so you will need a valid Utah driver's license.
The Compliance Auditor position requires physical activity, including walking for several hours at a time, going up and down stairs, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying equipment, and reaching and squatting to assess and test various components. Inspections may involve evaluating plumbing, electrical systems, smoke detectors, HVAC systems, safety features, pest issues, windows, and more to ensure properties meet required standards.
To be successful in this role, you should have at least an associate degree or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of three years of experience working in Section 42 housing. Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Section 42 compliance is essential.
