Overview
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients for medical or clinical testing, transfusions, donations, or research.
Duties
- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to collect blood specimens
- Label vials with patient names and dates
- Organize and send samples to the laboratory for testing
- Follow proper patient identification procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols during specimen collection
- Interact with patients professionally and compassionately
Requirements
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and skin puncture
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical laboratory procedures
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques for specimen collection processing
- Ability to accurately perform blood sampling and specimen handling
- Understanding of vital signs, physiology, and laboratory techniques
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 26 per week
