Content Producer/Editor Intern

The Utah Hockey Club is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Content Intern to join our Content Team. This role focuses on producing engaging video content and short-form media to enhance the Club’s digital presence. The ideal candidate will be adept at shooting and editing videos, particularly for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create compelling short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts that capture the essence of the Utah Hockey Club and resonate with our audience.
• Shoot a variety of video content, including long-form pieces, player and team hype videos, interviews, media availabilities, press conferences and event recaps. Edit videos to produce visually appealing and narrative-driven content.
• Develop fresh and creative video concepts that align with current social media trends and drive engagement across UHC’s digital platforms.
• Work closely with the Content Manager and Content Producers to support content needs and integrate video efforts with broader social media strategies. Collaborate with the Content Team to ensure consistency and quality across all video projects. 

COMPETENCIES:

• Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit video content. 
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro) is essential.
• Understanding of shot composition, movement, and in-camera techniques. Experience with various 4K cameras, audio equipment, and stabilizers is a plus.
• Ability to light press conferences and set up a mixer and press box is a plus.
• Experience with Sony Cinema Cameras (FX6, FX3, etc.) a plus.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and trends, particularly for short-form content.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in video production and editing required.
• A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous work is required. Applicants without previous work will not be considered. 
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and guide the Content Intern effectively.
• Interest in the NHL is preferred.
• Ability to ice skate is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
• This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
• This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
• This person must be able to lift 30 lbs.
