What are the responsibilities and job description for the MOHS Technician (Part Time) position at Utah Valley Dermatology?
The Mohs Technician prepares specimen slides for physician review.
Dermatology is a fast-paced work environment and helps patients with services ranging from cosmetic consults, acne, skin checks, skin cancer treatments and associated outpatient procedures.
Our MOHS technician does the following:
Perform Sample Handling within Established Laboratory Standards: Performs sample handling to ensure the integrity and orientation of the sample is maintained.
Tissue Preparation: Prepares specimen to include the following: a) Specimen inking, b) Specimen embedding, c) Preparing frozen section, d) Specimen cutting, e) Specimen slide preparation.
Tissue Staining: Performs specimen slide staining and maintains staining chemicals. This will include a working knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
Equipment: Maintains a working knowledge of Cryostat and other laboratory equipment, troubleshooting skills, and an awareness of the factors that influence test results.
Quality Assurance: Adheres to all CLIA regulations and chemical hygiene protocols. Maintains skills competency in Mohs Surgery and working knowledge of industry trends by taking advantage of available educational opportunities as directed.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
