ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The bookkeeper will work closely with the CEO of the Utah Warriors Rugby Team and the managing director of Tamarack Fund Management Company, the entity that owns the Utah Warriors. This position will be primarily responsible for day-to-day accounting, record-keeping, and payroll functions. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, accurate financial records and assist in preparing monthly and annual reports. This role also includes maintaining internal controls and supporting various departments with financial tracking and reporting. The position requires 2-3 days in-office at the Warriors Headquarters in Draper, UT.

CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including posting transactions and journal entries
- Process accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) in a timely manner
- Track departmental expenses and monitor budgets, reporting variances as needed. Ex. Monitor field usage and reconcile the hours used to the hours billed to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ensure accurate coding and processing of invoices and expense reports
- Process and track incoming payments from sponsors and partners, following up with A/R to ensure timely collection
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow management
- Assist with staff and player payroll processing and independent contractor payments
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures
- Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting data for board review
- Maintain organized financial records and support audits as necessary
- Assist with basic financial reporting and respond to accounting-related inquiries
CONTRACTOR PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of bookkeeping or relevant accounting experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks for Desktop)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with basic GAAP principles and internal controls
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with payroll and contractor payment processes
- Experience assisting with audits or financial reviews
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 days per week required in-office at the Warriors Headquarters in Draper, UT
- Flexibility to adjust hours during peak seasons or project deadlines. This position could also be structured as a contractor (1099) role. A consistent individual will be required to oversee the role and maintain a regular in-office presence if outsourced to a firm.
