Job Description
JOB SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : The Senior Reference Service Specialist supports the activities of the Research and Learning Services (RLS) Department of the Health Sciences Library.
Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Coordinates with the library’s Communication Specialist to communicate and advertise department news.
- Stays current with emerging technologies.
- Supports department faculty with digital design utilizing applications, i.e., Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, and Microsoft Office.
- Instructs and assists patrons in the use of electronic resources and occasionally print materials.
- Provides instructional support to department faculty.
- Assists with library orientation tours for new students and faculty.
- Assists department head with the development of user surveys and needs assessments.
- Assists Communications Coordinator with library promotional activities.
- Staffs the information desk as needed.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s Degree Preferred) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE : Two (2) years of experience in an office or customer-oriented environment.
