Summary
Knowledgeable in the application and utilization of standard practices and procedures used in the machine tool trade. Lead and follow-up of automated assembly and weld systems from onset to installation at the customer’s facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Advises and supports Pipefitter in planning of Piping and Installation of equipment and fixtures.
Inspects piping and fixtures for conformance to company and/or customer specifications.
Assist Supervisor in build schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet build schedules.
Recommends measures to improve build methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Estimates and inspects materials.
Confers with other leaders to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Material Follow-up, if necessary.
Attends team meetings.
Determines with other leaders and/or job leaders break points for cable tray, piping, and fence for teardown.
Verifies with Pipefitters that changes are marked up in the drawing set and conveyed back to the controls design with proper quality form.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
Adheres to the Quality System and participates in continuous improvement.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
Leader Responsibilities
Directly leads 10 to 50 employees. Carries out leader responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving job related technical problems.

Education and/or Experience
Associate degree from a college or university; at minimum 7 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
MIOSHA Industrial Truck driving permit and Crane Operator Certification.
