Overview
At Utepils Brewing, the Taproom Manager is responsible for day-to-day success and operations of the Taproom. The Fernweh Taproom acts as its own business line inside the overall Utepils Brewing Company’s organization. The Taproom Managers own the success of all aspects of this business model and are accountable to provide the highest possible guest experience by supporting our best-in-the-biz Front-of-House team, ensuring our award-winning brews are served to perfection, and safeguarding our unique Utepils ethos. This role provides leadership to the Front-of-House team, ensures projects with the Taproom are completed appropriately and timely, and maintains an active presence on the floor.
Duties and accountabilities include:
- Build a fun, energetic and welcoming culture for both employees and guests consistent with the Utepils Brewing brand.
- Supports the continuing education and training of Taproom Bartenders to maintain a team of personable, beer-knowledgeable, customer service-focused team members committed to high standards of performance.
- Ongoing review of, and help to manage team’s adherence to, Utepils Brewing Taproom policies, standards, and training programs.
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the Taproom, employees and guests.
- Manage the schedule of Taproom and event staffing to achieve optimum customer experience.
- Help oversee administrative duties and communications of daily sales reports, invoices, cash management, payroll reporting, and other tools as required.
- Work with other Taproom Managers in the management of property upkeep along with scheduling repair and maintenance projects, maintaining overall facility and sanitation to create a clean and comfortable environment.
- Propose, and in many cases lead initiatives (including live entertainment, Taproom events, etc.) to increase Taproom revenue.
- Support special events and day-to-day reservations for use of space in the Taproom.
- Maintain and order par levels of appropriate inventory of non-alcoholic beverages, food items, cleaning supplies, and other Taproom necessities.
- Learn, operate, and troubleshoot POS system, including BOH functionality (adding buttons, promos, etc.) and running reports to analyze sales trends.
- Learn, operate and update the private event / reservation software along with staff communication software.
- Be an active and engaged part of Utepils Brewing’s success which includes other duties as assigned based on need
Necessary Skills, Training, & Qualifications
- Prior management of taproom, restaurant/bar or other hospitality team.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to establish standards/goals, mentor team members, and hold team members accountable for attaining goals.
- Proven experience hiring and terminating team members.
- Knowledge and love of craft beer, and an understanding of beer production and beer service.
- Exceptional proven customer service skills.
- Experience with Toast POS System or similar technology.
- Ability to orchestrate large scale events.
- Must have night and weekend availability and be responsible for closing Taproom.
- Must have, or obtain prior to start, TIPs certification or equivalent for alcohol service.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary will be based on skills and qualifications, starting at $50,000/yr.
