INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST I
Conroe, TX
POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
To control inventory within the plant, schedule, and conduct cycle counts in the plant, and issue goods to work centers as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Adjust and control inventory
- Sort orders by work centers and file by date, as required
- Materials first issues
- Material receivers
- Order goods, as required
- Generate reports
- Assign bin locations
- Answer telephones
- Assist in cross-training
- Communicate with other departments
- Maintain 5S checklist
- Implement and practice Lean manufacturing tools including 5S, increased productivity and eliminating waste
- Practice Six Sigma
- Identify/Recommend process improvements
- Integral part of process initiatives
Other Requirements
- Must be able to learn basic computer skills
- Must follow company safety procedures
- Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Must be able to read tools of linear measurement
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 6 months to 1 year of work-related experience
Work Environment
This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses tools and other such equipment during the course of the job duties. Provided Personal Protective Equipment, as well as steel-toed boots or shoes, must be worn at all times.
Physical Demands
- Moderate walking and climbing
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, and stoop
- Regular, predictable attendance is required
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
