Responsible for the planning of manufacturing and/or buyouts of assigned parts, components or material needed to meet production schedules.
Essential Functions
- Analysis of MRP supply and demand in ERP
- Execute strategic source demand including bill of material structure review
- Advanced inventory stocking levels and safety stock analysis
- Overview work order entry, monitoring, scheduling, and rescheduling
- Analyze consolidation of production planning workbench
- Review and approve planning parameters such as MIN/MAX/Safety Stock/Lead Times to implement mass updates
- Determine priorities for work orders and schedule production
- Collaborate with engineering and production to identify root cause and implement corrective actions to reduce ECNs
- Proficiency of product/commodity to consolidate demand and understand the manufacturing of the production lines
- Generate & analyze status reports to identify critical paths and identify solutions
- Assess production operation workloads within production planning and manufacturing
- Coordinate and organize procedures within the production shop
- Review or create processes and implement improvements
- Lead status reports meetings and communicate priorities to production
- Train and develop production planners
- Implement and practice Lean Manufacturing Tools including 5S, increased productivity and eliminating waste.
- Maintain 5 S checklists as it applies to your work area.
- Independent and able to lead others
- Must follow company safety procedures at all times.
- Must be able to use tools of linear measurements.
- Must have Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point).
- Must have advanced capability of reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to visually inspect material.
- Must have skills in judgement, planning, organizing, and controlling.
- Must be able to identify solutions and be detail oriented.
- Must have mediation and liaison skills.
- Must be an excellent team worker and have communication skills.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must work independent, have excellent management skills, & ability to carry on multiple roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, procurement, or equivalent years in planning experience.
- Demonstrated experience in product planning and scheduling.
- 3-5 year’s planning production experience.
- Moderate walking and climbing.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; and stoop.
- Must be able to walk distances throughout the Plant.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
