UTHealth Houston is looking for a program manager who will be the GME institutional coordinator. This employee develops, plans, and manages all activities of a school/unit program(s) or project(s). Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program. The Program Manager/GME Institutional Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities and responsibilities of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) as required by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The GME Institutional Coordinator oversees the administration of all internal special and focused program reviews and is responsible for the systematic management and retention of all institutional and program accreditation files.

The GME Institutional Coordinator is also the lead technical expert on the ACGME Annual Data System (ADS) and provides counsel to programs on required ADS filings and submissions. The GME Institutional Coordinator must stay abreast of ever-changing ACGME institutional and common program requirements, Institutional policies and procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
This role will work in our Jesse Jones Library building on the third floor. It is in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. It will require someone to be in the office full-time, especially when learning the job during the first year. Position Summary:
Develops, plans, and manages all activities of a school/unit program(s) or project(s). Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Oversees all aspects of the program activities. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress. Develops, implements, and manages policies and procedures.
2. May manage/maintain an annual budget, negotiate service contracts, report on progress, and/or authorize expenditures.
3. Informs upper management of key activities and makes periodic progress reports.
4. Works closely with internal departments regarding strategy and collaborative opportunities.
5. May assist in the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies.
6. Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
7. Working in conjunction with Public Affairs, may create and edit various communications materials for the department/program, which may include printed materials, website content, and/or department newsletters.
8. Communicate with the community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes. Prepares/makes oral presentations at professional meetings.
9. May manage Human Resources activities for direct report in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and terminating, training and development, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
May require program-specific certifications. This employee will need to be familiar with GME and ACGME
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of applicable experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
