Job Description
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor, Surgical Oncologist Surgeon (Academic). This is a full-time position with possible tenure-track status and faculty rank as commensurate with experience and credentials.
Responsibilities
The Memphis Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) (5/8 position) and Regional One Health (ROH) (3/8 position) jointly support this position. This surgeon should be a leader in the management and research of Complex General Surgical Oncology including soft tissue/Breast/Foregut/Cutaneous & Hepatobiliary Diseases.
The fiscal structure of the position will be divided between VAMC, ROH, and UTHSC. All benefits will be offered through the University of Tennessee. Opportunities for protected research time for funded research will be available based on the credentials and experience of the applicants.
May supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
In addition to outstanding clinical care, the successful candidate will participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
This position will provide on-call coverage for the Surgical Oncology division and commensurate with the 3/8 position in Regional One Health.
