Facilitates projects by serving as a liaison between business users and application developers to identify, build and support new and improved technology solutions. Leads efforts around technology system enhancements and application process improvements. Elicits business requirements and evaluates technical solutions by discussing needs with the business, end users, leadership, and project teams. Defines, contributes to, and coordinates the development and approval of user acceptance test plans, approaches, and scripts. Works on technology projects and implementations. Provides continuous support, collaborating with vendors, business areas and application development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely and develops relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and met.
  • Leads reviews of business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement
  • Collaborates with the Application Development team to translate business process needs into technology solutions that align with business objectives. Uses knowledge of the application development process to participate in any stage of the development process.
  • Constructs workflow charts and diagrams, studies system capabilities, writes specifications.
  • Leads and participates in system testing and ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements prior to and during user acceptance testing.
  • Participates in defining system implementation and user-acceptance test plans.
  • Assists with the analysis of bug fixes/issues, with ability to lead groups of Application Development and other departmental staff to troubleshoot, brainstorm solutions, prioritize solutions and resolve problems.
  • Conducts final quality analysis of new/enhanced systems.
  • Understands and negotiates the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
  • Conducts meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Develops and maintains application documentation including business and system requirements, use cases, test scripts, and process mappings.
  • Understands UECU business processes, networks, databases and other technology. Stays current on existing and emerging technologies in the industry that may enhance current systems and processes.
  • Creates, develops, provides, or coordinates system training, materials, and other educational tools.
  • Determines how changes to a project will affect the business and systems.
  • Researches and analyzes the nature, effect, and results of system difficulties.
  • Acts as liaison with Application Development and/or outside vendors to support relevant systems.
  • Leads scope definition and requirements gathering at the project initiation stage to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical specifications before development begins.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders early in the project lifecycle to develop a project charter that documents business needs, identify constraints, and define clear success criteria, ensuring projects are set up for success from the start.
  • Ensures that the project managers have and understand every detail they require to create and implement processes and solutions.
  • Works with project managers to establish a structured approach for progressive elaboration of requirements, minimizing scope creep and ensuring timely delivery of solutions that meet project goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all responsibilities of this position are performed in compliance with provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

  • Performs tasks that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SDLC, testing, and validating solutions in a Business Analyst capacity is required.
  • Previous experience working with FinTech and/or in the financial industry strongly preferred.

Our Credit Union follows a hybrid work structure where employees may be allowed to work remotely up to five days a week. Working a hybrid schedule is determined based on the position and needs of the business.
