What are the responsibilities and job description for the Evening In-tester Position position at Utilities & Industries?
Utilities & Industries is currently looking for a full-time Evening Intesting Operator. This position is responsible to perform all tasks involved in the production of gas meters. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Cross training for other positions on production line is required.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Make sure meters have been temperature acclimated before testing
- Visually inspect meter for water or damage that would prevent intesting
- Remove caps from spuds
- Put meter on American Snap Prover to intest where intest data is collected and recorded
- After meter is intested put cap spuds back on and place in designated area
Other duties and responsibilities:
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- May be asked to perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
Prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:
- The position will be required to perform basic math skills, i.e., adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.
- Knowledge of basic computer programs.
- Organizational skills
Physical environment/working conditions:
- The position involves standing in one area for long periods of time throughout the day, up to 10 hours.
- Repeated bending and stooping body downward and forward is required at
- May also be required to lift up to and including 50 lbs.
- Repetitive motion of the hands is required.
