What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Position position at Utilities & Industries?
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a solid understanding of both low and high voltage systems. This role is critical in ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, minimizing downtime, and maximizing operational efficiency.
Experience/Ability Required: Knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanics, pneumatic, painting and masonry.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Open plant up every day. This consist of unlocking the employee entrance, doing a building walk through, turn on the lights, depending on the time of year turn on the AC or the heat, check air compressor oil then start the air compressor, dryer, and vacuum pumps. Ensure the condensation is emptied on the air dryer.
- Monitor and control temperature in production area as it needs to be 68°F to 72°F with no more than ±1°F in a giving hour.
- Preventative maintenance to be done on a regular basis to all equipment, provers, conveyor belts and pneumatic tools etc. Implement a monthly preventive maintenance check list and submit to manager at the beginning of each month.
- Change fluids and filters on forklifts as needed.
- Monitor the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. Make repairs if needed.
- Install new equipment and improve existing facilities to meet production demands.
- Create safe working conditions.
- Notify manager or storeroom attendant when equipment and or maintenance supplies are needed.
- Keep files of equipment information updated.
- Repair all equipment that is either broke or not functioning properly.
- Maintain all company vehicles. Make general repairs and tune ups to vehicles including forklifts.
- Get bids for mowing grass and plowing snow every year and submit to manager for approval.
- Empty dumpsters and garbage’s twice a week or as needed.
