What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Utilities & Industries?
Utilities & Industries is currently look for a Plant Manager. This position will direct and coordinate all aspects of the facility to ensure efficiency in all operations to meet production and quality guidelines
Minimum Monday through Friday, eight hours a day. Exact hours will vary as needed and evening work will be required at times. Some travel will be required.
This position will directly supervise, and be responsible for overseeing the duties performed by the following positions:
- Production/Floor Supervisor
- Office staff (including invoicing and data analysis personnel)
- Shipping and Receiving
- Maintenance staff (including building and grounds upkeep)
- Trucking
- Storeroom/Purchasing
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Production:
· Monitor production efficiencies throughout the facility.
· Monitor training of employees. Assure that all training and safety programs are adhered to.
· Control labor costs and supply expenses.
· Monitor the meter flow to and from the shops.
· Forecasting workforce needs to match available production work.
Inventory:
· Oversee complete physical inventory of the plant
· Ensure storeroom personnel are quoting out products
· Review inventory cycle counts to assure inventory is accounted for as well as being received and deducted properly.
Personnel:
· Coordinate with HR manager for Employee performance, and of employee evaluations, and discipline issues as needed.
· Coordinate with HR to hire for all open positions.
· Coordinate with the IT Manager on all plant needs and/or preventive maintenance.
· Ensure employees have the tools they need to do their jobs and that sufficient stock of spares are on hand.
Trucking:
· Maintain maintenance schedule
· Oversee delivery schedule
· Communications between truck driver
Reporting and Administrative:
· Generate reports. Create graphs when possible to show trends
· Create policies and procedures, as needed, and/or update existing procedures.
· Work with General Manager and HR Manager to ensure all regulatory agency reports are submitted.
Safety:
· Lead safety committee. Coordinate and schedule safety meetings. Make sure any concerns / issues get resolved immediately. Maintain safety days.
· Coordinate with HR for safety rewards
· Maintain a clean and safe plant environment inside and out.
Customer Service / Sales:
· Interact with current customers to build a good working relationship.
· Verify data transmissions to customers.
· Work with customers to ensure delivery
· Work with sales personnel to gain new customers and grow sales.
Misc:
· Evaluating shipping, reporting, inventory, and maintenance for efficiency.
· Monitor quality control throughout all processes.
· Schedule and conduct meetings as necessary.
· Provide leadership and support to ensure a well-trained and motivated staff.
· Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
· Create a positive work environment.
· Set preventive maintenance schedule and confirm maintenance personnel are implementing.
