We handle everything from site design and engineering to grant paperwork, permitting, installation, inspection, and ongoing maintenance, we manage it all. Our most successful product line has been EVSEs where we offer both Level 2 and Level 3 DC Fast Charging Stations, and we've built strong partnerships with top manufacturers like ChargePoint, Zerova, ABB, Tritium, BTC Power, Autel, Wallbox, and more.
In 2024 we tripled our revenue. We're a small and nimble team, eager to tackle one of the most prominent issues facing our planet today. Yet we've got the support of our sister company, Utilities One, which gives Energy5 nationwide capabilities and the ability to tackle any job from a mom and pop grocery store, up to dozens of ports at a warehouse.
About the Role
The Head of Sales will be directly responsible for all sales efforts across the Energy5 team. We have a sales force of 8 individuals at this time with plans for growth. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle, from KPI and goal setting to training and assisting with closings. This role is your chance to roll up your sleeves, manage a team, and make a massive impact as the sales leader at a rapidly growing organization.
This role is considered a critical leadership position at the company, and will be a main decision maker for overall strategy decisions. You will help shape the future of this company.
Core Functions/Duties
Sales Strategy
- Research, design, and implement sales strategy to achieve team revenue goals
- Partner with the VP of Operations Backoffice team to identify opportunities for market expansion and new customer acquisition
- Monitor and analyze key sales metrics to drive continuous improvement and optimize team performance
- Utilize data to make informed decisions around sales targets, new markets, and strategic pivots
Collaboration
- Work with marketing to help craft compelling collateral for email follow up, in person visits, and tradeshow presence
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and account managers to solidify existing customer relationships and grow new business
System and Process Optimization
- We will be implementing a new CRM to work across Energy5 and our sister company Utilities One, you'll need to ensure we set up our new CRM to work well for us and help us capitalize on this infrastructure investment
- Analyze our current funnel and identify what works, what doesn't, and make strategic recommendations on how to optimize our ROI for every aspect of our sales cycle
Lead and Manage Sales Team
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of Account Managers
- Establish performance expectations and provide regular coaching and feedback to team members
Base Salary
$115,000 - $140,000 starting salary based on experience.
Commission
1% of the total revenue for each deal closed
Uncapped commissions
Total compensation expected to be $220k-$260k

Required Experience
10 years of B2B/Commercial/Enterprise sales experience
5 years building, managing, and growing teams
Strong capability to leverage data to identify trends, inform quotas, and track team metrics
Preferred Experience
Local to Philadelphia area
3 years Clean Energy (EVs, Solar, or Batteries) experience or interest
Experience implementing a new CRM
Experience selling to commercial businesses
Experience leading trade show efforts nationwide
