Description

DOT Lighting Bucket Operator

Performs work from aerial devices and ladders to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.Working hours is typically a 10-hour day.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, and handline etc.).

Clears work area and maintains safe jobsite conditions and assists with work and material assembling from the ground

Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.

Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.

Exposed to traffic and may be required to have training on traffic flagging.

All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications :

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Able to :

meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket truck as identified by truck manufacturer.

work long hours and overtime, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.

work with hands above head for extended periods of time.

work efficiently and effectively while working at heights.

safely enter and exit the aerial device and rear-end of the bucket and derrick trucks

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Pre-Screen

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and / or MVR check.
  • License & Certifications :

    Valid class "B" commercial driver's license (CDL) required.

    Ability to pass DOT physical & obtain DOT medical card required.

    Travel Requirements :

  • Must be willing to travel out of town / state for regular / emergency storm work.
  • Physical Requirements :

    RARE : (less than 10%) : Sitting, Kneeling, Crawling, Color Vision, Climbing Stairs

    OCCASIONAL : (up to 33%) : Stooping, Squatting, Climbing On / Off Truck, Climbing Ladders, Pushing, Reading, Lifting up to 50 lbs.

    FREQUENT : (up to 66%) : Carrying, Pulling, Balancing, body-twisting, Hearing / Speech Range, Lifting, Lifting up to 10 lbs., Manual Dexterity, Speaking Clearly, Walking

    CONTINUOUS : (up to 100%) : Standing, Sense of Touch, Gripping, Seeing , Reaching, range-of-motion, Depth Perception, Lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Climbing.
