What are the responsibilities and job description for the Directional Drill Operator/Locator - Rock Specialist position at Utility Contracting Company?
We are seeking a skilled Horizontal Directional Driller with Rock Drilling experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge to perform drilling operations efficiently.
Directional Drill Operator duties include but are not limited to:
- Operate Drilling equipment
- Preform daily maintenance on all jobsite equipment and vehicles
- Ensure proper bore rig set-up, & fluid mixing
- Ensure proper piloting and down-hole reaming to maximize daily production
- Able to operate HDD Tracking systems
- Able to locate and pothole necessary utility lines
- Demonstrate good judgment in the field
- Work as a team in tandem with the crew foreman and other crew members
- Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies
Directional Drill Operator Qualifications:
- Must be experienced with Directional Drill equipment , Rock Drill experience required and must understand their capabilities and limitations.
- Clean Insurable driving record
- Must be able to obtain a CDL medical card within 90 days of hire
- Must be willing to work overtime and to travel (Per Diem is provided when traveling)
- Must be team-oriented

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.83 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week

Experience:
- Vermeer/Ditch Witch Drill: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- CDL A (Preferred)
