What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-Level UAS Assistant position at Utility Design Services Inc.?
Located in Temecula, Utility Design Services Inc. is looking to add a full-time UAS Assistant to our rapidly growing team! Our UAS Assistants will work closely with an experienced UAS Pilot to provide quality mapping and survey services to utility and telecommunication companies throughout Southern California. This position requires frequent travel throughout Southern California which may include overtime.

Essential Functions:
- Daily travel and outside field duties with a UAS Pilot gathering data and equipment setup.
- Ensuring the safety of crew members, clients, and the public.
- Assist UAS crews during various UAS missions.
- Understand and interact with FAA National Airspace Guidelines.
- Assists with coordinating and conducting flight operations and testing.
- Assists in data processing of imagery collected during flights.
- Ensuring company vehicle and equipment are cleaned and keep organized weekly.
- Ensuring that all equipment needed is loaded, properly maintained, and ready to use.
- Communicating any equipment and supply issues to the UAS Pilot and/or Supervisor.
- Maintaining adequate supplies in the truck and carrying survey supplies during the collection of necessary survey data.
- May drive to and from jobsites thereby freeing UAS Pilot to study job packets.
- Directing all questions from the public to the UAS Pilot and/or Supervisor.
- Assist UAS Pilot with any anomalies or emergency situations.
- Assist Aerial/ Research Department with any other duties as directed.
- Responsible for loss prevention.
- Performs Rodman duties as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Your Must Haves:
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Technically oriented and good communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional image and client anonymity.
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel out of town as required and be able to work out of town on occasion on projects that may require overnight stay.
- UAS/ Remote Pilot, utility, or land survey knowledge or interest in learning.
- Meet FAA Requirements to obtain Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
- Be 21 years or older, as this role may drive a company vehicle.
