Utility Global is looking to hire an experienced Manufacturing Technicians. This role will be based in our Houston office located in the Energy Corridor.
Overview for Manufacturing Technician
Reporting to the Director of Ceramic Manufacturing, the Manufacturing Technician performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations. This includes working with engineers in the development of a ceramic process for manufacturing high tech ceramic substrates. Their main focus will be to assist with the production of the substrates from the fabrication to the final quality control testing. The Manufacturing Technician also works with engineers in conducting R&D experiments and collecting data for quality control.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations in ceramics fabrication
· Handling and managing ceramic material products
· Weighing and mixing raw materials
· Test material properties and provide results to engineers
· Preparing ceramic materials for firing in a furnaces
· Perform spray operations for applying ceramic coatings
· Assist with programing and maintaining furnaces and other processing equipment
· Read and follow drawings, documentation, and other instructions with strict adherence to procedural compliance
· Work with contractors on-site to assist with the warehouse buildout
· Setup high temperature experiments and collect data
· Assist with development of standard operational procedures and quality control data collection
· Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness
· Assist with shipping and receiving materials
Basic Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent and or 4-6 years additional education and/or related experience
· Strong attention to detail
· Demonstrated mechanical ability
· Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic
· Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings
· Excels in a team environment
· Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
· Ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Protocols and Safety Protocols
Preferred Qualifications
· Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word, OneNote and Excel
· Experience working in a ceramic, metal or plastic manufacturing environment
· Experience or familiarity with 5S lean methodology
· Experience with forklifts and similar warehouse equipment
- Laboratory technical skills
- Critical thinking skills to recognize problems and develop solutions or alternative approaches
- Machine shop experience or welding
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
· Ability to be on feet for up to 8 hours each day
· Ability to work Overtime and Weekends as needed
Candidates must have reliable transportation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
