Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac equipment to safely excavate and expose underground utilities while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks to perform safe excavation/location of underground utilities in various environments, including confined spaces.
- Drive equipment safetly and efficiently to job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the hydrovac unit including winterization.
- Collaborate with team members to plan excavation projects efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on-site.
- Prepare work areas, ensuring safety measures are implemented and potential hazards are addressed.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, customers and other crew members regarding project status and any issues that arise.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Maintain flexible work schedule to respond to emergency calls.
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- A Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus, or willingness to obtain one within first 30 days.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds and perform manual labor in diverse weather conditions.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Previous experience in hydrovac operations or similar fields is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection and OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
