Field Safety (Overhead Lines)
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Safety General Foreman, this person will be responsible for the development, training, and adherence of the company and customer’s safety rules.
Job Qualifications:
The successful candidate(s) will possess the following experience and/or skills:
- Minimum 3 years field experience as a qualified Journeyman Lineman
- Maintain all applicable state, federal, and host company standards and regulations
- Capable of maintaining company red tag certification
- Must be willing to travel regularly to all regions within the footprint to conduct field audits, attend meetings, perform accident investigations, and assist with AARC reporting
- Must be proficient with computer word processing programs
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of OH line construction and maintenance practices
- Must be able to work with outside vendors to obtain required training/equipment for apprentices, journeymen, warehouse, and office employees
- Must become/maintain a company approved CPR/First Aid trainer certification
- Must be able to work with all employees and present a positive/safe work environment
- Must be able to work in all related ROWs, stations and facilities
Candidates will be evaluated in the following areas to determine qualifications:
- Depth of experience – possess in depth knowledge of classification specific work tasks due to time in the field, variety of content related experience, and any additional certifications or education related to the content
- Location of experience
- Communication ability, which includes verbal, and written skills
- Team working skills
