What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internships - Account Coordinators position at Utility Management Services, Inc.?
The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior at UNCW studying Professional Selling, Marketing Strategy or Communications.
You will sell a professional energy consulting service. We work to reduce the utility bills for energy intensive businesses. We share the savings with them. If we don't save them money, our services are free.
We have been in business for 27 years. We have been hiring UNCW students and graduates for that entire time. They have been the key to our success.
We have done business with more than 10,000 businesses. We have created a cumulative $ 750 million in savings for those businesses.
You will call the owners, CEOs, Presidents, CFOs, Vice Presidents and other managers of businesses of many types and sizes. Your role will be to convince them to have a face to face meeting with either the President of UMS or one of our Account Managers. When possible, you will go along on the in-person sales call to help close the sale and to learn more about the sales process.
All work will be performed on-site at the UMS office at 6317 Oleander Drive in Wilmington.
Ten to 20 hours of weekly work availability desired.
Potential exists for this to not only be a paid internship, but for it to also earn you credit hours toward graduation.
Training and leads provided.
Potential to become a permanent, full-time career sales opportunity upon graduation.
Responsibilities
- Use SalesForce, our CRM, to manage and update leads.
- Call executives at businesses, briefly describe our services and ask for a face to face meeting.
- Connect with prospects on LinkedIn as another means of outreach.
- Send emails to prospects to also ask for their business.
- Use MS Outlook to schedule appointments with prospects and add them to their calendar and to our calenars.
Qualifications
- Junior or Senior at UNCW.
- Sales experience preferred but not required.
- Interest in potentially becoming a full-time employee upon graduation preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
