What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Surveyor for Data Collection position at Utility Metering Solutions (UMS)?
The successful candidate should be self-motivated, have a great work ethic, and be able to work well with little supervision in various environments or inclement weather.
As a Field Surveyor for Data Collection, you will be expected to perform the following:
Responsibilities include:
- Follow project instructions from the Field Service Manager or Site Supervisor.
- Entering existing line type (example) copper, PVC, poly, ductile, galvanized, and lead.
- Taking photos of water lines.
- Follow UMS standards of safety, productivity, and quality of work.
- Walking or driving vehicles along established routes to perform data collection.
- Work Independently and in a team environment.
- Maintain and follow required attire and grooming standards.
- Basic technological equipment skills and attention to detail to ensure data integrity.
UMS will provide step-by-step training to be successful.

Must work under the following conditions:
- Wear a company-approved uniform and required PPE, which is provided by the company.
- Stand, walk, reach, using hands and arms frequently.
- Perform work outdoors, in variable weather conditions and environments.
- Follow the Field Service Manager's oral and written directions, plans, and instructions.
- Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, and stoop repetitively, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Maintain reliability and dependability.
- Assist with other activities when needed.
