Gas Meter Technician
Utility Partners of America (UPA), a full-service utility contractor, is seeking highly motivated and safety- conscious individuals to join its team as Natural Gas meter technicians. Employees will be responsible for natural gas activities including and not limited to, Gas meter installs, lighting gas pilots, troubleshooting, etc. This is a full-time position in the greater Greer, SC area. Summary of Responsibilities:
- Must consent to and pass a drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check
- Must be ok with working independantly 95% of the time.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Perform general customer-faced service activities including, but not limited to, replacement of meters, turn-ons and turn-offs, investigate calls regarding gas leaks and carbon monoxide presence, etc.
- Visually examine appliances for defects, perform diagnostic tests applying mechanical, gas theory or principles to determine cause of malfunction; repair, adjust or replace components.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the public
- Able to walk, stand, bend, climb and kneel throughout the day
- Prior natural gas installation or HVAC maintenance experience is required.
- Prior experience of re-lighting gas pilots is required.
- Ability to access a typical residential crawl space
- Able to work outdoors and withstand regional seasonal weather including inclement weather
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Schedule:
- Day shift
- Hours may vary from 8, 10, or 12-hour days depending on workload and location.
- Monday to Friday with potential overtime nights and weekends.

- Natural gas equipment or HVAC experience including pilot relighting:
