Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Field Technician to join our growing team. As part of the team, you will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining a wide range of utility equipment. This is a hands-on role where your work will have a positive impact on communities across the region, including those where you live.
Responsibilities:
- Operate in a safe and efficient manner, properly utilizing all required safety equipment (e.g., PPE) and adhering to established safety practices and procedures.
- Transport equipment and supplies to the equipment being inspected.
- Use tools and supplies properly to inspect and maintain equipment.
- Maintain productivity and quality workmanship according to company standards and project requirements.
- Follow all company and customer-required policies and procedures, including work instructions and specifications, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace, and Dress Code.
- If required, safely operate company vehicles. Keep company vehicles clean and organized and/or assist the Crew Leader in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Perform tasks as directed for project requirements, work submissions, inventory management, and maintaining safe and clean vehicles and work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Some inspection or field technician work experience preferred.
- Experience working around utility equipment is preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must possess a valid driver's license with no DUI/DWI convictions in the past five years.
Technical:
- Ability to operate mobile devices and have the ability to submit work electronically.
- Must be able to utilize mobile applications.
- Must be able to read maps and follow work instructions.
- Ability to read, print, speak, and understand written and verbal instructions.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand and walk, with full range of mobility in the upper and lower body.
- Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and listen.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Regularly work outdoors in various weather conditions, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, and allergens.
- Noise level is usually moderate, with short periods of loud noise.
Travel Requirements:
- Varies by customer and region, with some projects requiring frequent Monday through Friday overnight travel across one or more states.
- Must maintain consistent attendance and be available for work Monday through Friday.
