We are seeking a LEVEL 1 ASSEMBLER to join our team in Hickory, NC! The Level I Assembler reports to the Production Supervisor. This position focuses on constructing products by assembling parts and subassemblies.
Duties and Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Follow Work Orders
- Assembles products according to approved standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- The scope of assemblies is generally limited to less complex tools and subassembly components utilized in the manufacture of more complex tools.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding all established quality standards.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
- Package completed assemblies according to approved standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Operates machines of limited complexity to perform assembly process on the assembly line
- Must be proficient at multiple tasks within a work center
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to multi-task
- Strong safety orientation
- Attention to detail
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and specifications provided by engineering
- Basic understanding of conventional measuring tools and techniques, to assure compliance with technical specifications
- Ability to braze mechanical components
- Ability to solder electrical components
Requirements:
- High school degree or GED equivalent
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Physical Requirements:
Production environment: dust, grease, and metal shavings are common. Significant risks from equipment and the environment require constant care and vigilance. Be able to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 30 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and hand tools to assemble parts and to reach with hands and arms.
