The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is looking to hire a Field Safety Professional to join our growing team!
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, regulations, and standards, including proper use of PPE and safety equipment on-site.
- Conduct regular reviews of safety procedures, adapting and maintaining them to meet regulatory and project-specific requirements.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Assist in incident investigations, OSHA inquiries, and dispute resolutions to ensure accurate documentation and resolution.
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Stay updated on industry trends, safety developments, and competitor practices to enhance workplace safety standards.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with employees, contractors, customers, and stakeholders to ensure project harmony and collaboration.
- Act as a safety representative in the community, promoting a positive company image and ensuring professional conduct.
- Provide timely and accurate reports as requested by the Safety Supervisor and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or extensive experience in the electrical contracting industry preferred, or equivalent training certifications and experience.
- 5 years of experience in safety management within the utility construction or similar industry.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, CHST) are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
- Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to provide clear guidance and training.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, decision making, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to use safety management or training tracking software.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments and travel to various job sites as needed.
