The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company (HWC) is looking to hire a Superintendent to join our growing team!
As a Superintendent, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. By applying organizational and communication skills, you will build strong relationships with our field crews and customers, ensuring positive experiences within our operations.
- Lead and manage projects from planning through completion. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards.
- Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are strictly followed. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a safe work environment.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of crews and subcontractors. Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
- Act as the single point of contact for customers, ensuring effective communication and coordination between field operations and other companies under the USC corporate umbrella.
- Plan and allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ability to read, understand, and provide high-level estimates for project work.
- Monitor and inspect project work to ensure it meets the company's quality standards and industry regulations.
- Liaise with project managers, material suppliers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and project progression.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, costs, and issues. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.
- Possess financial acumen and work with the RVP to review financial job health within the ERP platform.
- Identify potential issues and implement solutions promptly to avoid project delays or cost overruns.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner during customer interactions, maintaining a high standard of service and professionalism.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution or related field, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of line construction, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
