REEFER TECHNICIAN

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigerated Unit Repair Technician to join our team. As a technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various refrigeration systems in commercial and/or residential settings. This position requires a strong understanding of refrigeration principles, mechanical aptitude, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose malfunctions in refrigeration systems and components, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory and testing equipment.
• Repairs and Maintenance: Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of refrigeration units, including but not limited to walk-in coolers, reach-in freezers, ice machines, and HVAC systems.
• Installation: Install new refrigeration units and systems, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs performed, and parts used for accurate invoicing and inventory management.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, explaining repairs and maintenance procedures in clear terms.
• Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience (2 years) as a Refrigeration Technician or similar role.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC/R preferred.
• Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, proficient in the use of hand and power tools, ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and tolerate varying temperatures.
• Other: Valid driver's license, clean driving record, EPA certification (Type I and II or Universal).

Salary : $30 - $40
