What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Professor / Professor & Chair - Epidemiology position at UTMB Health?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Oversee the research and scholarly activities of the faculty members within the department.
- Ensure appropriate and optimal use of human, financial, space and other resources to successfully manage the educational and research missions of the department.
- Provide mentoring for faculty to encourage and support scholarship and research.
- Support research within the department as well as collaborative efforts with other departments and programs in the university community.
- Encourage, facilitate, and support all efforts to acquire research funding.
- Identify appropriate internal controls for the department and provide mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
- Conduct and publish research and obtain external funding for research and / or training programs.
- Teach and mentor graduate students.
- Promote a culture of "Service Excellence" throughout the University
